After I saw this tweet I went right on my job and hit up MicxSic via text confirmed if it was all good for me to go to the station as a guest. I have been on the radio off and on since 2002 and this seemed like a great time for me to get back on or at the least just find out where the community radio is at in Atlanta. MicxSic was gracious enough to let me to tag along. We decided to meet at 255 Tapas Lounge because Mic Barz was going to be performing along with some others for this event called kidney for Prima. The event was packed looked packed from the outside.

I ran into to Mic Barz outside who told me I just missed him perform, I was kind of sad about that but the night would get better. As soon as I get inside I see rappers snapping in front of a small crowd, I see Big Kuntry King from Grand Hustle, I see Nikki from Hustle and Flow, I see WhyCauseICan.com and the bar is packed. After talking to everyone I go and see a woman that I remember from doing the social media for A3C and I ask what her name is she tells me Prima.

This whole time I was at this event which was called "Kidney For Prima" not knowing that I had known Prima all this time. I donate a few dollars to the cause and go to the back of the club to wait for MicXSic who has not arrived yet. I am sitting in the back posted up and I have a very interesting conversation about strands and California vs the World. Atlanta is always filled with outside characters you never know if you will met label rep or a botanist.
My night is going pretty so far good and after about 15 mins of talking to people and waiting around MicxSic shows up and we talk for a minute then head to the studio. And this studio looks dope! The studio looks like an old elementary school from the outside. It is tucked away in a quite neighborhood kind of place that my grandparents from Ohio live in right now, a quite tucked away place with long paths that lead up to tall homes. We are in separate cars so I meet him at the door. As we are walking up to the door Fort Knox pops out of the green night and he has no idea I was coming but he is glad to see me, we exchange handshakes as the three of us are buzzed into the giant 8 foot doors.
Once inside we are walked down a short hall way that leads to the studio and it smells like college radio inside the actual studio. I can smell collection of promo materials and that unique smell that electronics have. But it is spacious and it bigger than some of the for profit studios that I have been in. But I sit down and I begin to text everyone that has recently text me and ask to call up to the station and ask to talk to me and then it happens. I had no plans on texting anyone but this situation reminded me of when I visited NDO radio. If I get people to call in for me I could get on air. In my experience as an on air host the phone only rings when good things are happening on air so my goal was to get that phone to ring.
The phones are going off the rest of the evening with people calling in asking for me and it felt amazing. The following was so strong that they had to acknowledge the force that was in there presences. MicxSic started spitting freestyles as only Mic does, he is the illest freestyler in Atlanta, which causes the host Jay Force to start rapping, which is something that he has not done in the last two years according to the co host Carmen Breezy and Odell. The overall energy for the entire time we were on air was great! MicxSic and Dj Brandon took over the radio show that night and Fort Knox was there so you know how that goes.
Fort Knox is basically a walking car battery, I have seen him turn a group of 8 people into a hyped crowd of spectators. After the show the energy continued at Fellini's Pizza where the conversation about rap, paying dues, hometowns and male and female relationship continued until the pizzeria shutdown.
My first night at WRFG radio was epic. Thank you to www.paparazziiready.com and heartlandhiphop.com for calling in and asking to speak with me. Thank you to everyone involved.
