I love the whole process that Rick Ross went through in releasing his new mix tape Rich Forever. Ross is a marketing beast check this out. He released a video, did an interview with MTV, released the mix tape on datpiff.com and as of today there are over 590,000 downloads on datpiff.com now I can't count for how many downloads that is all together put it is a fair guess that other sources combined that is probably 750,000 downloads in less than a week. That is serious numbers and it was not done easily or by mistake it has taken years. And after listening to the mix tape I saw heard some heavy weights like Nas, John Legend, new artist like Future, French Montana and 2 Chainz and beats by Lex Luger on the mix tape it is obvious to see that Ross is making sure that the music is first.
Rick Ross has won the beef with 50 Cent and is winning the first two weeks of 2012. He said something like I have whips like LeBron and kicks like Wale. And it is true Ross is getting the culture from all angles it is like a movie to watch
There is an interesting fact I heard while listening to a speech by Dr. Michael Eric Dyson while I was in college that Rick Ross did not invent the grunt on the record as an ad-lib. The first grunt that Dr. Dyson told us about was Fats Dominio who was a famous piano player from the first part of the century who used to let out a grunt when the rhythm got good to him. Then Biggie Smalls was another person that had one of the best grunts in hip hop but Ross has taken it to a whole different level. On the newest mix tape I heard at least four different types of grunts all special and the all seemed to work.
Ross is killing it right now point blank period. I am waiting for the Album God Forgives and I don't to come out like the rest of yall. When you see me in the club ask me to play some Rozay because you know I got it
