Drake is not Rap/Hip Hop music? Do critics lack perspective?

So I was watching the Drake-Ft. Lil Wayne video for miss me and something happened to me. I got that same feeling when Method Man and Redman came out with their first album; hype rowdy, made me want to turn the speakers up, it got me excited. Then I had a thought their is talk by the vocal minority that Drakes album is no a rap album and I thought were those people watching the same videos I was, are they going to the same clubs I go to and do they think that Drake is not in the same vein as The Sugar Hill Gang. The video that Drake makes are rap videos featuring the standard snare, kick drum and 16 bars, the people that make up rap culture have accepted him into their clubs and Drake seems to me like he is doing the same things that the Sugar Hill Gang, Kool Herc and Grand Flash, pioneers of Rap, did; make music that has energy and mass appeal. If a hater wants to believe that Drake is not rap then they should take a deeper look at the history of rap. Enjoy the paradigm shift I just gave you and have a nice weekend tomorrow is my birthday.
